Becoming 30

Becoming 30

Today, on September 24th, I turn 30.

For a long time, thirty sounded like a very big number. I thought my twenties would be filled with travelling, seeing the world and figuring everything out. Instead, I spent quite a lot of them inside my own head, trying to understand who I was and what kind of life I wanted to create.

I’m entering my thirties without the house, children or endless travels I once thought I should have. But I do have a home I love, people I love, a life I’ve built with the love of my life and, perhaps most importantly, a growing feeling that I don’t have to choose.

I still want to see the world. I want to travel, surf, live by the sea and discover new places. And guess.. I'm just turning 30. I have time, and I want to spend it well. I want to live my own time, rather than watching someone else’s life through a screen and wondering if I’m behind.

There is no perfect route. No other life waiting for us to finally begin living.

So, as I turn thirty, I’m choosing to be here. To experience more, to make plans, to follow my curiosity and to let life unfold in all its colours.
